First Time Home Buyer $8000 Tax Credit

The $8000 tax credit that is now offered to first time home buyers will end soon. A buyer must close on a new home by November 30, 2009 to be eligible for the tax credit. From the time a new home buyer signs a purchase agreement on a new home until the property actually closes can take approximately 30 - 45 days.  Keep in mind that title companies and mortgage companies generally close for the Thanksgiving holiday which occurs near the end of November.  This may cause delays in closing.

To get the $8000 tax credit new home buyers should have an accepted offer on a new home within the next few days in order to beat the deadline.
